When To Get  Furnace Duct Cleaning In Lethbridge ?

Lethbridge Duct Cleaning Cost

Your ducts are hidden between layers of flooring. It can be tricky to keep track of accumulation in your system. Here are 4 signs you should get  furnace duct cleaning.

1. Mold has been found in your furnace or air conditioner.

Furnaces and air conditioners can develop condensation, mold growth is not uncommon. If our technician tells you that your system has mold, first ask to see evidence and contact a mold expert. Our technicians may not have the training and credentials to properly identify mold and whether the mold is harmful. We will help you look for an indoor air quality expert. If mold is found on your furnace, air conditioner, or air handler, we recommend getting your system sanitized as it will eliminate and prevent mold from growing in your ducts.

2. Your home recently built, or just underwent renovations.

Construction can be dirty and messy. Even if contractors are careful when keeping work areas clean and closing off areas to protect your home , dust and debris always finds a way in. Unless your system is turned off and completely covered for the duration of the construction process, that dirt and dust will make its way into your ducts. Construction dust contains harmful particulate matter that you don’t want to be breathing in. Don’t wait until you experience respiratory issues to give us a call .

3. Your home is dusty, no matter how often you clean.

If you are noticing that flat surfaces in your house are coated in a layer of dust shortly after you’ve cleaned, you probably need to have your ducts cleaned. Check your air supply and return vents around your house. Do they look dirty and dusty? Remove a vent register and look into the duct-work. Is the metal covered in dust? If the answer is yes give us a call!

4. Your heating and/or cooling costs are climbing.

If you receive a bill that is noticeably high, or if you look at your records and note that your utility bills are much higher compared to the same time a year ago, your home’s duct-work might be the cause. Duct-work can get so dirty that air cannot flow effortlessly and efficiently through your furnace duct system. As a result, your furnace fan is forced to work harder to maintain the set temperature. The excessive energy expenditure increases utility bills for you. Leaky ducts can also affect the amount of effort your furnace is putting out to maintain temperatures. Duct-work is installed in sections, these sections are sealed to prevent air leakage. Over time the seals can deteriorate, which reduces the efficiency of your  system.

How We Get The Job Done

Visual Inspection

Our Technicians visually inspect the ducts leading to the return and supply registers. You can assess the level of buildup in the ducts prior to confirm the difference after we have completed the clean. A professional duct cleaning is an opportunity for our technician to check the ductwork for possible leaks, or duct kinks for flexible ducting. We can make minor repairs and replace damaged ductwork.

Set Up

We use a large, portable or truck-mounted vacuum collection device to suck dust and debris out of your ductwork. Prior to turning on the suction and removing debris from the ducts, we Attach the large vacuum hose to a duct near the the heart of your system. Our Technician will then seal each register with an adhesive cover to ensure maximum suction during the clean.

Once set up is complete, our technician will one by one uncover each register and clean the ducts. Our technicians will use compressed air tools, rotating brushes, and vacuum cleaners to dislodge dust and ensure it is sucked into the vacuum collection device.
